Credits 04:46
The credits have started to roll, wrapped up in a blanket, we’re not even cold. If we had any friends, we’d say no. Before we know what the plans are, we don’t want to go. Your eyes are a warm fire. Your hair is crashing down on me like waves. Get mad at me just once. You yell at me, “Why can’t it be this way?” The glasses of whiskey are sweating, the sound of silence is deafening., just an ocean of leaves stomping its feet outside the door. And now it’s time for the questioning, “I love her. Don’t I love her? Why don’t I love her?” She’s calling me a liar, her tears are crashing down on me like waves. You yell at me just once. And then you say, “Why don’t you want this? Tell me what could I have done differently.” Well, I don’t know.

New Orleans 04:11
I saw the lights flicker then go dim. She opened up the door and walked right in. Been a minute since I've seen this girl. She held a string and at the end was the world. She wore tattoos all over the place. It’s less about the art and more ‘bout the pain. With the cutest scowl that you’ve ever seen. She’s seen the world and knows it ain’t that pretty. But hey, yeah maybe she's a little narcissistic. Lust is the color of her lipstick. But if you dare to question what she wants in this world, she’ll confess all her innocent dreams, she’ll confess all her innocence. You’d never know it, she’d never show it, but she works three jobs, yet she keeps on going. I dare you to tell her she’s not gonna make it. She's an innocent prisoner, addicted to sin. All the bars can’t contain her, the people want in. They’d charge a cover just to watch her light a cigarette. Roll up your sleeves little girl, ‘cause it ain’t gon’ be easy.

Street Lamps 05:07
I’m a streetlamp at dusk, waiting for dark to arrive. You’ve seen me in this light, but I wanna show you mine. When the sun is hiding, that’s when I’ll guide you home. That’s when you’ll notice that I’ve been here all along. I’ll guide you home down these narrow streets and these backroads that you don’t know. You’ve seen them in the daylight, but I promise at night you’ll see that you need me. I’m a lightbulb in the basement where you packed all of your childhood things. It’s been on your mind since the day of your brother’s passing. You still don’t have the strength, but when you do I’ll be right here. I’ll cast a glow upon you so you can breathe in all those better years. This is the part where I tell the truth. I want to make history with you. I’ll guide you home to the shores where it’s safe. You don’t have to be scared anymore. Pull up to the docks, you can tear down the sails because you’re home.

My World 05:45
My world is flawless as it spins so slow. The only one that I have ever known. The only one that I would dare call home. But me, I’m just the moon. I’ll watch her from afar. I’ll keep an eye when she’s asleep. I’ll stay awake so I know it’s not just a dream. Velvet grace that allows for your mistakes. She’ll take the blame, receive the hate, and take all of the weight. Oblivious to her beauty; vistas and scenic routes. Her imperfections are marvels, attractions, museums too. But me, I’m just the moon. I’m out here all alone. I’m closer than the sun you see, aware of my affect on her. With me, we’ll change the tides. We’ll watch the shores sink and rise. Together we will change. This is the one that I will run through the fire for. The only one that I will run through the fire for.

That's Hope 05:36
It was a day that I just didn’t want the sun to shine, as if my mood controlled the weather. Whether or not it was for the better, I took a stroll into the past. I grabbed a flashlight and a notebook just in case the face of hope would show itself again. Maybe if I figured out when it started, I could tell it to just go away. Oh, hope, what have you done to me? What have you done? I think it’s clear to see, a shadow is all I cling to. What good is a book with its pages glued together hiding its wisdom from the seeker? Would its words make you any better or send your confusion even deeper? I’d like to know. I watched it come so close. It pressed up on my skin. It told me lies. It told me I’d be whole again. When it ran its course, I stood here all alone, and nothing would ever be the same again for me. Nothing would be the same. Not for me. That’s hope to me.
